Thesis

In the 1930s, severe poverty caused by the Great Depression left millions of young men and their families hopeless. With Franklin D. Roosevelt's (FDR) election and his creation of the Civilian Conservation Corps ("CCC"), desperate young men joined the program in thousands seeking opportunity to help themselves and their families. The CCC not only relieved their poverty, it overcame many barriers preventing young men from having a chance at a better life.
